The following statistics are thanks to LATV and a survey of Columbia County middle and high schoolers in an ad campaign (titled The Truth) to assert positive peer pressure (Statistics may have been reversed to accentuate interesting trends):
In the past 12 months, 30% of Columbia County middle schoolers have ridden in a car with someone who´s been drinking (Originally cited as 70% having not ridden with someone who was drinking).
In the past 30 days, 28% of Columbia County high schoolers have smoked a cigarette (or 82% have not).
In the past 30 days, 60/100 of Columbia County high schoolers have not had an alcoholic drink, and 22% have only had 1,2, or 3 drinks in the past month, so 28% have had more than 3 drinks in the past month, but:
In the past 2 weeks, 33% of Columbia County high schoolers have binge drank (5 or more drinks in a row) (77% have not).
Thank you LATV for making work more interesting (or, at least amusing).
